ISC2 Alberta is looking to immediately fill open Board of Directors positions.

Work at a Director level position for the Alberta ISC2 Chapter Community while furthering your career, earning CPE Credits and networking with other like-minded professionals and executives.

ISC2 Alberta is a volunteer organization board that runs https://bsidesEdmonton.ca as well as other events and organize community discounts on IT Security training.

Timeline for ISC2 Board of Directors Election

  • AGM Wednesday May 29th
    Elections: Candidate Presentations and Voting

    • President ISC2Alberta

    Duties

    > Promote ISC2 Alberta, engaging the local Tech and Security Community

    > Lead the Board of Directors, fostering a positive community culture

    > Be accountable, ensuring the chapter remains in good standing with our governing legal and parent organizations

    > Lead a one hour monthly Board meeting to provide updates on current and future initiatives

    > Be social and have fun! This is a volunteer position with many great career and community rewards.

     

    Qualifications

    > Professional work experience, running a Board of Directors or large team, 7+ years

    > Highly organized and self-motivated

    > Interested in giving 5 hours each month towards the duties of a President level position

    > Experience with Google Apps / Google Workspace considered an asset

    > ISC2 certification * is required for this position

    Events Director

    Duties

    > Promote ISC2 Alberta, engaging the local Tech and Security Community

    > Engage with ISC2 President and Board of Directors, improving existing processes

    > Work closely with our partners, vendors and our 450+ members in Alberta, organizing and promoting local and virtual events

    > Be a leader and mentor in the professional community, promoting security best practices

    > Attend a one hour monthly Board meeting to provide updates on current and future initiatives

    > Be social and have fun! This is a volunteer position with many great career and community rewards.

    Qualifications

    > Experience setting up and hosting virtual events

    > Must have good organizational, analytical, and coordinating abilities

    > Working knowledge of EventBright and similar is required

    > Social media experience, 3+ years

    > Interested in giving 3 hours each month towards the duties of a Director level position

    > Experience with Google Apps / Google Workspace considered an asset

    > Excellent written and oral communications

    > ISC2 certification is considered an asset but not required for this position

    Communication Director

    Duties

    > Promote ISC2 Alberta, engaging the local Tech and Security Community

    > Engage with ISC2 President and Board of Directors, improving existing processes

    > Be a leader and mentor in the professional community, promoting security best practices

    > Attend a one hour monthly Board meeting to provide updates on current and future initiatives

    > Work with your fellow Board members to compile and distribute monthly electronic newsletter to ISC2 Alberta membership

    > Monitor and manage posting content to ISC2 Alberta's social media presence on X and LinkedIn

    > Keep abreast of news, issues and trends in the cybersecurity space

    > Be social and have fun! This is a volunteer position with many great career and community rewards.

     

    Qualifications

    > Professional work experience, 3+ years

    > Highly organized and self-motivated

    > Interested in giving 3 hours each month towards the duties of a Director level position

    > Experience with Google Apps / Google Workspace considered an asset

    > Experience in journalism or communications is considered an asset but not required

    > Solid understanding of social media management and strong writing skills

    > ISC2 certification is considered an asset but not required for this position

    Director at Membership

    Duties

    > Promote ISC2 Alberta, engaging the local Tech and Security Community

    > Engage with ISC2 President and Board of Directors, improving existing processes

    > Oversee the development and mentoring of the organization's members, working closely with the Director of Communications to provide engaging and interesting content.

    > Attend a one hour monthly Board meeting to provide updates on current and future initiatives

    > Be social and have fun! This is a volunteer position with many great career and community rewards.

    > Highly organized and self-motivated

    > Interested in giving 3 hours each month towards the duties of a Director level position
